Graphic interface and viewer to manipulate STRING data, from protein databases.

Although perhaps not immediately obvious just from its name, unless you are already familiar with it, Medusa is in fact an interactive graphic interface and viewer.

As you all know at this level, a graphic is made up of nodes and edges. The edges indicate interaction between nodes. In reality, Medusa works as a graphic interface for the database of interactions between proteins, called STRING.

The web interface that exists for STRING, although very complete, is totally static. It doesn't let the user create their own network. For this you can take advantage of the services of this program: Medusa. It gives you much more freedom when manipulating STRING data. It is flexible and easy to use and install, and is totally free for academic use.

This Medusa program allows you to load your own data or interactively add or delete nodes and edges. It is also very easy to download, install and then use, through its friendly and intuitive user interface. You don't need any technical experience at all to get the most out of it.
